About

Hi, I’m mum to three amazing, inspiring and awesome young people that I have the privilege to call my daughters and son. I originally started my blog to share the journey of being ‘mum’ ‘mummy’ while working for the national charity Adoption UK, where I had worked since 2015 until leaving at the end of August 2022. I joined the organisation as a helpline advisor in the Scotland team in 2015, when I left the organisations I was the FASD Services Manager with oversight of FASD Hub Scotland having established the service in April 2019. One of our children has an FASD diagnosis and all have a history of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE). I consider myself to be an #FASD #ExpertByExperience. I’m a home educator, and as a family we started this journey in April 2016. Our families journey with education is now one of blended mainstream and home education meeting the different needs of individuals within the family. As a family we represent those with neurodiversity, who are neurodivergent; dyslexia, FASD, ADHD, autism. My husband and I are strong advocates for strength based assessments and diagnosis that support individuals to be able to understand their own areas of challenge, and provide meaningful supports and strategies that will help them and their caregivers throughout their lives. I hope you find my thoughts, reflects and insights useful, thought provoking and interesting reads. If you would like to leave comments, or get in touch please do.
